World's Biggest Coffee Morning

To help celebrate the Macmillan Cancer Support’s World's Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September, we at Edinburghshopper.com have been sipping our way across the capital to find the best coffee shop stops.  Here we present some of the most divine and tasty coffee shops and tea boutiques to add to your morning journey to work.  Especially with winter fast approaching, you’ll want to map out where the nearest winter warmers are to keep you cosey right through to summer.

Bored with your English breakfast tea?  Want to escape and experience something different?  At eteaket, loose leaf teas have been expertly sourced from around the world to be enjoyed in mis-matched china cups and saucers in a chic contemporary space. Delicious patisserie, sandwiches, light meals, afternoon tea (on vintage cake stands) and freshly roasted coffee available all day to sit in or take-away.

Word of Mouth Cafe offers a relaxed and friendly environment to enjoy fine coffee, their own range of herbal teas or some freshly prepared food.  They also have a Mezze menu which is great to share with the five for £15 deal and if you fancy something sweet, all the cakes are lovingly prepared by the staff.  Regular evening events take place, including an open mic poetry and music night, pudding night and Tuesday evenings French conversation group.

This comfy coffee spot offers an excellent range of speciality coffees and hearty breakfasts. Their homemade pancakes and flavoured coffees are an absolute must!  An easy location for a morning roll and coffee.  Excellent value for money and as the name says, everything’s Fairtrade!

Coffee Stop offers a wide range of espresso coffees and an intriguing range of filter coffees all with the Fairtrade status. The sell freshly prepared sandwiches, panini’s and patisseries products.

AMT Coffee, Haymarket Station, 1-7 Haymarket Terrace, 0131 337 3526‎
AMT Coffee is a very conveniently placed ‘coffee stop’ just outside Haymarket Station, perfect for when you’re running out the door and haven’t had time for breakfast. They offer everything you could want when you’re on the go, with a nice verity of hot drinks and freshly baked pastries there's no need to go hungry again in the morning. AMT Coffee is Fairtrade and uses organic milk in their drinks.

John Lewis are once again supporting the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Catch up with your friends over a coffee in John Lewis on Friday 25 September and John Lewis will make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support for every cup of coffee sold. They will also be holding fashion workshops in the womenswear department at 11 am, 12 noon and 1 pm so that you are your girlfriends can make a day of it.
