City shops have everything you need for a stylish festival season
As festival fever sweeps the nation once again, we are getting our supplies looked out for this year’s T in the Park, Wickerman and Belladrum festivals. Whether you are a first time festival goer or looking to freshen up your campsite clobber there is something for everyone on hand – so we’ve brought your our guide to where to bag the best buys.
Camping expert and Manager at Blacks on Frederick Street Jennifer McCulloch, gives her view on the top buys for 2010: “All our tents are waterproof so will withstand our unpredictable Scottish summer weather –whether you are keeping it cosy in a two man, or after a party atmosphere in a twelve. Make sure you snuggle up nicely with a good quality sleeping bag; ours even include a special line of Zandra Rhodes designs.
My top buys this year have to be, a pop up tent, wellies, a waterproof kagoul, camping chair and mug to rest your drink and wind up lantern.
If you are after something stylish Cath Kidson on George Street is selling camping stoves, chairs, wellies, waterproof picnic rungs and picnic sets – all with a kitsch floral or polkadot twist.
And to make sure that you are still dancing at the encore, don’t forget to take sensible footwear. There is a huge choice with most shops starting their summer sale - why not head to Jones Bootmaker on George Street, Duo on Castle Street, Clarks on Prince’s Street or Camper on Hanover Street. Finally remember to take a waterbottle, sunscreen, deodorant and toilet roll – pop in to beauty giants Boots or Superdrug on Prince’s Street and stock up!
