Room with a View

Have you ever had a spectacular meal with a view to match? Luckily there are a host of dining experiences available in Edinburgh that fit the bill. Whether you want to view Prince Street Gardens in all their glory or take in the breathtaking skyline of Edinburgh; there are plenty of options throughout the city.

One of our favourites is The Scottish Cafe and Restaurant within The National Gallery, located  near Princes Street Gardens.  The venue celebrates fresh and flavoursome food from all over Scotland, including traditional Cullen Skink, bread and butter pudding, and also has a great selection of delicious baked butteries. The interior is decked with giant windows allowing diners to catch a great view of the gardens and truly appreciate this special setting. This venue really is THE room with a view.

Harvey Nichols Forth Floor Restaurant, St Andrew Square is another firm favourite with city diners due to its floor to ceiling glass framing and spectacular views of Edinburgh’s skyline stretching from Edinburgh Castle right across to the Firth of Forth. Oh and the food doesn’t disappoint!  Served with excellent presentation and  mouth-watering flavours, the dining excellence is matched by the very attentive and friendly service. Special offers at lunchtime’s make this restaurant great value for money and  a great venue for entertaining or visiting on a whim.

Meanwhile Oloroso on Castle Street offers incredible views towards Edinburgh castle as well as overlooking the city and diners can even see as far as Fife on a clear day. The rooftop terrace is an essential Edinburgh experience and the menu is a feast of contemporary Scottish cuisine complemented by an extensive wine list to suit everyone’s tastes. For those on a budget, the venue also offers a bar menu brimming with robust fayre as well as offering more sophisticated cuisine options similar to the restaurant menu.

Tickling your taste buds while seeing Edinburgh from a new viewpoint could be right up your street.
