Or check out the newly opened Urban Outfitters for a whole load of gift ideas, and probably an outfit for yourself. Then reward your shopping efforts with a PlayStation session in the basement of HMV, followed by a pint and some live sports in The Standing Order on George Street.

Come weekends Candy Bar offers a mean fry up from 12-5pm or for a party atmosphere and some proper celebrations, head to Off Piste at Hawke & Hunter. The venue’s been converted into an indoor winter wonderland with Alpine village, ski chalets and snow covered trees. Packages are available for dinner and drinks, or there are DJs from 10pm till the wee small hours.
